Graduate Engineer – Geotechnical Engineering

The Graduate Geotechnical Engineer will support senior engineers and project teams in the analysis, investigation, and design of geotechnical solutions for civil infrastructure and construction projects. This entry-level role involves fieldwork, laboratory data interpretation, numerical modelling, and preparation of technical reports under supervision. The successful candidate will develop core geotechnical skills while contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of engineering projects. Key Responsibilities: Field Investigation & Site Work Assist with planning and execution of geotechnical site investigations. Monitor drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing such as SPT, CPT, plate load tests, and permeability tests. Perform field logging of soil and rock samples. Coordinate with contractors and site personnel to ensure safety and compliance with procedures. Geotechnical Analysis & Design Assist in geotechnical analysis including slope stability, foundation design, settlement analysis, bearing capacity assessments, and retaining structures. Conduct soil and rock classification based on laboratory and field test results. Contribute to numerical modelling using geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, SLIDE, gINT, Rocscience tools). Reporting & Documentation Prepare factual and interpretative geotechnical reports. Produce drawings, calculations, and design documentation under guidance. Maintain accurate project records and data management. Technical Support Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, civil, and environmental engineers. Support senior engineers in preparing proposals, tenders, and risk assessments. Participate in design review meetings and site progress meetings. Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock engineering, and foundation engineering. Ability to interpret geotechnical investigation data. Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with geotechnical software is an advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication skills—both written and verbal. Willingness to undertake site work in various environments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Construction Materials Testing Technician

The Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician is responsible for performing field and laboratory tests on soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials to verify compliance with project specifications and industry standards. This role involves daily travel to job sites, accurate documentation, communication with project teams, and adherence to safety and quality requirements. Key Responsibilities Field Testing • Perform on-site testing and inspection of construction materials, including: o Concrete sampling, slump tests, air content, and temperature checks o Soil compaction testing using nuclear density gauges o Asphalt density, compaction, and temperature checks o Foundation, rebar, and structural inspections as required • Observe and document construction activities for compliance with plans and specifications. • Collect and label material samples for laboratory testing. Laboratory Testing • Conduct lab tests on soil, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete samples following ASTM/ AASHTO standards. • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and testing instruments. • Record, analyze, and verify test data for accuracy. Documentation & Reporting • Complete daily field reports, test results, and data entry using company software. • Communicate issues, test failures, or discrepancies to project managers and contractors immediately. • Maintain detailed and organized logs of all inspections and test results. Safety & Compliance • Follow all company, site, and industry safety procedures and PPE requirements. • Properly handle and operate nuclear density gauges per regulatory requirements. • Maintain necessary certifications and participate in regular training.
