Job Description

The Drafter is responsible for producing accurate and fabrication-ready workshop drawings and prefabricated component drawings for structural systems, trailers, steel sections, and modern small buildings. The role ensures precise detailing, coordination with engineering teams, and delivery of drawings that support efficient manufacturing, assembly, and construction.

Requirements

  • A. Workshop Drawings (Structural & Steel Fabrication)
  • Prepare detailed workshop drawings for steel structures, frames, beams, columns, bracing systems, and related elements.
  • Convert engineering designs into fabrication-ready details, including dimensions, tolerances, welding symbols, material specifications, and connection details.
  • Produce cutting lists, assembly diagrams, and bill of materials as required.
  • B. Prefabricated Building Components
  • Develop prefabrication drawings for modular or small modern buildings, including panels, wall frames, roof systems, floor systems, and connection hardware.
  • Detail joining methods, lifting points, installation sequences, and assembly interfaces.
  • Ensure designs meet manufacturability requirements and are compatible with prefabrication equipment and workflows.
  • C. Trailer & Specialty Component Drafting
  • Generate detailed drawings for trailers, chassis frames, suspension mounts, brackets, and structural reinforcements.
  • Specify materials, plate thicknesses, fabrication details, and component layouts per engineering and regulatory requirements.
  • D. Coordination & Technical Clarifications
  • Work closely with structural engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to clarify design intent and resolve technical queries.
  • Coordinate drawings across disciplines (structural, mechanical, architectural) to avoid clashes and ensure constructability.
  • E. Revision and Document Control
  • Update drawings based on design changes, site feedback, or fabrication notes.
  • Maintain version control, revision logs, and issue transmittals according to company standards.
  • F. Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure drawings follow relevant standards, codes, and company drafting guidelines.
  • Conduct self-checking to minimize errors and reduce fabrication rework.
  • Verify accuracy of dimensions, alignments, and assembly fit.
  • 3. Expected Deliverables
  • Complete workshop drawing packages for steel structures, trailers, and prefabricated components
  • Fabrication drawings (flat patterns, cutting lists, assembly drawings, BOMs)
  • Prefabricated building module drawings
  • 3D models (if required by project)
  • Updated revision and issue logs
  • Coordination drawings and compliance check reports
  • 4. Skills & Competencies
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drafting tools
  • Strong understanding of steel fabrication, welding practices, and structural detailing
  • Knowledge of modular/prefabricated construction methods
  • Ability to interpret engineering designs and convert them into practical shop drawings
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drawing packages
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
